Acu Yoga Workshop
We often run workshops with local yoga studios and gyms to share simple tools and strategies for healthy living. In our Acu Yoga Workshops we combine Yin Yoga practice with acupressure to help get more out of the positions, and finish with optional acupuncture to help deepen the savasana meditative state.
During our Acu Yoga workshops, we start with some self acupressure massage to help stimulate the circulation of chi and blood throughout the body in order to prepare us to get more out of our yoga practice. We do this by stimulating the Lung and Heart channels, together the Lung and Heart are responsible for drawing chi from outside the body, and then spreading it throughout the 12 channels and 4 limbs. This will be the most active or yang part of the workshop, helping to loosen and prepare the body for yin yoga.
During your practice we will wander around and help anyone who wants to get deeper into their postures. We do this by using acupressure points tailored to the person and their areas of restriction. Here we want to assist the body and mind relax, and help guide you from a yang state into a more yin state of subtle movement and awareness.
Once the practice has finished, we will come around to carefully add needles to selected acupuncture points, encouraging the body into a deeper yin state of relaxation during savasana.
For those who have already attended an Acu Yoga workshop with us, see below for refresher videos of the acupressure covered.
